Seattle – Denny Triangle Traffic
Let’s talk about traffic. Traffic in Denny Triangle on Denny Way during rush hour is a little rough. From Interstate 5 there are a couple ways into this neighborhood. One is by taking the Pike Street Exit if your heading north bound and the other is the Mercer Street Exit which is available from both direction of I-5.
The Mercer Street exit gets clogged pretty quickly which in turn backs up the Interstate just as fast. When taking this exit to get to Denny Triangle you must stay in the left lane and take Fairview Street. Once this is done, traffic flows smoothly. Just don’t forget about the camera at Fairview and Denny that takes pictures of those running red lights.
During the afternoon rush hour Denny backs up all the way down to Highway 99 and takes time to clear. One of many annoying things that happens when this line forms are all the people who think they will be smart and cut in at the front of the line. Don’t be that guy!
The other place that gets backup up a little during afternoon rush hour is people traveling down Olive Street. With any entrance to a major interstate you will have congestion during peek hours. However, this one isn’t so bad.
